The disk was inside a desktop computer, it would emit a loud 'beep' when powered, the user then immediately switched the disk off.
Diagnosis:
The drive was received and booked into the lab for analysis, this took around 4HRs and showed that the drive had head / preamplifier failure. A replacement of these parts is crucial if data recovery was to be achieved.
