Have you tested your data backup recently?
World backup day 2012 may be some time away but please do not leave it that late to check you data, act today to save your important data!
It might be very surprising to you to know that many clients who lose data from a backup either never check the backup or check it only once in a while.
This approach often leads to disappointment as following a data loss from a crashed hard drive or similar situation the backup is checked to reveal that either the wrong data has been backed up or is totally out of date.
It is suggested that if you are a home user who stores precious data like holidays or similar photo's, music or either personal type data on some form of back that you check it at least 1 per month that the data is what you actualy need and that it functions correctly.
For business clients then a weekly or daily check should be made depending on the quantity or type of data or storage device you are using, it is not recommeneded that you allow any software to make an automatic check that the data is good as often these type of situations lead to failure of correct data backup.
It is also recomended that you have at least two backup sets just in case one fails, many clients report they accidentally drop there external hard drive backup so a pen drive as an addition is a wise course to follow.
