A client from Hereford, contacted this data recovery firm for a solution to recover data from a damaged Hitachi laptop hard disk.
Here is the case study:
The user was working on the laptop whilst drinking a can of coke, the user accidentally spilled the drink over the keyboard and this in turn damaged the computer and components inside, mainly the hard drive.
Diagnosis:
The team examined the media in full, as usual. The diagnosis showed that the liquid had come into contact with the PCB, this is the board you can see on top of the hard drive, it is usually green or blue in colour. The liquid had damaged the PCB beyond repair, so the team had to use a new donor part to recover the data.
