How do I proceed?
To start a new data recovery case you can either phone or email our facility to arrange collection of your faulty hard drive.
The collection is free of charge, however if the media is unrecoverable or you wish to have it returned to you then a fee of £20 applies for the return of the media.
An email with our shipping form will be emailed to you this must be printed filled out and signed and placed inside the consignment ready for our courier to collect.
After our facility has received it a safe custody email will be sent to you.
Diagnosis will then commence which is free providing that the media has not been opened or has been sent to another company before us, if it has been to another lab or company then a fee of £75 + VAT applies, if the media has not been looked at by anyone and the drive has not been opened then the diagnosis is free.
Further to the diagnosis an email will be sent you outlining the problem with the hard drive and how to proceed, the turnaround time and all costs will be explained to you, if you do not wish to proceed you are not under any obligation and may have the faulty hard drive returned back to you.
If you accept the quotation then the work will commence this will either be logical, firmware, physical or all of the above stages, the final part of the recovery process a full folder and file listing will be emailed to you where you can decide if you wish to proceed based on this list.
In some recovery cases not all data can be recovered this is particularly true when the hard drive has suffered from a head crash and has removed the platter surface thus eliminating the data, the folder and file list will show in a native structure all data that has been recovered, so if the important data has not been recovered and you do not wish to proceed you do not have to pay any recovery fee, this process is very fair and allows you complete confidence that you only pay for the data you require.
